On 16-19 March PWEA participated in the European Wind Energy Conference (EWEC), the most important European industry event. This year’s EWEC was held in Marseilles.
For Poland this was the EWEC preceding the next year’s conference in Warsaw. The opening ceremony was attended by Undersecretary of State in Ministry of Economy, Mr. Marcin Korolec. PWEA President, Mr. Jarosław Mroczek presented the development of the wind energy market in Poland during the „Business and Policy” panel.
On 17 March a so-called Polish Dinner was held, attended by PWEA Board and invited guests, including representatives of Ministry of Economy.
Furthermore, a number of meetings between EWEA and PWEA were held during the event to discuss organizational issues, including the Polish Day to be organized by PWEA, opening the next year’s EWEC on 19 April 2010.
As usual, EWEC was a unique opportunity to meet European and global wind energy market participants. PWEA participated in a meeting concerning the organization of the Global Wind Day, which is to increase social awareness of the benefits stemming from the use of wind energy, as well as in a meeting concerning the WINDBARRIERS project.
The Marseilles conference was special for Poland, for in the next year it is Poland who will host the EWEC. Already today we would like to invite everyone to participate in this extraordinary event. EWEC 2010 in Warsaw will start with a Polish Day, presenting the most important aspects of the wind energy market in Poland. EWEC 2010 will be jointly organized by Polish Wind Energy Association and European Wind Energy Association.
