We would like to inform that on the Senate’s of the Republic of Poland website a position of the National Economy Committee on renewables dated 15 October 2009 was published. In the position the Committee states that the existing barriers to development of the RES market may significantly hinder realization of the targets for the use of energy produced from renewable sources stemming from national and EU requirements. Furthermore, the Committee states that the primary barrier to RES development is the poor condition of power grids limiting their transmission capacity. Among other barriers the Committee deemed justified to mention lack of stability of support schemes for renewables, lack of spatial development plans in communes and lack of communal energy supply plans. The National Economy Committee in its position addresses the Government of the Republic of Poland to take action to remove barriers hindering development of the renewables market. The Committee in particular states that the current amendment to the Energy Law may be an opportunity to do so.
