Zarz\u0105d Morskich Port\u00f3w Szczecin and \u015awinouj\u015bcie already signed a preliminary land lease contract for the facility at Ostr\u00f3w Grabowski with the Spanish giant. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Windar\u2019s plant is yet another project following the offshore wind farm installation terminal and Vestas\u2019 offshore wind farm components factory related to renewable energy sources that will be located within the Szczecin-\u015awinouj\u015bcie port complex.<\/p>\n<p>On 19 October 2023 Zarz\u0105d Morskich Port\u00f3w Szczecin i \u015awinouj\u015bcie S.A. and Windar Polska Sp. z o.o. signed in Szczecin a preliminary lease contract for land located at Ostr\u00f3w Grabowski within the Port of Szczecin. 17 ha of land will feature a plant building wind turbine tower elements for onshore and offshore wind farms, foundations for onshore and offshore wind turbine towers as well as steel masts and towers.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cWe are very happy that Windar selected Szczecin, and our city will host a plant so important for the offshore and onshore industry,\u201d <\/em><strong>said Micha\u0142 Przepiera, Vice President of Szczecin<\/strong>. <em>\u201cThis is another important investment creating new jobs and consolidating our economy,\u201d <\/em>he added.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The Spanish company intends to start operations in the first half of 2026 and employ at least 400. Investment value is estimated at EUR 70 million.<\/p>\n<p>The core part of the Windar\u2019s plant will be the main building with four wind turbiner tower production lines. The building will also include a warehouse for raw materials needed for the production. A smaller auxiliary building for installation of internal elements will be built nearby. Assembly sites will occupy more than 3 hectares. Access roads and parking lot with 100 places will occupy more than 8 ha. Elements manufactured at the plant will be transported using sea transport.<\/p>\n<p>With such investments, the Zachodniopomorskie province is becoming the key offshore hub in Poland and a strategic centre for offshore wind in the Baltic Sea. Province Marshal, Olgierd Geblewicz, has been long emphasizing the importance of wind energy for the region.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cI am most happy that we not only produce renewable energy, which is still short in Europe, but also components for the sector. Climate goals, laid down for instance in the European Green Deal, have not been achieved in Poland yet. We have a lot to do.
