{"id":7296,"date":"2020-04-15T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2020-04-15T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.psew.pl\/?p=7296"},"modified":"2024-03-21T10:44:11","modified_gmt":"2024-03-21T10:44:11","slug":"pwea-requests-the-extension-of-res-auction-scheme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.psew.pl\/en\/pwea-requests-the-extension-of-res-auction-scheme\/","title":{"rendered":"PWEA requests the extension of RES auction scheme"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4><strong>The Polish Wind Energy Association has requested the Minister of Climate to extend the auction support scheme for RES.<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>According to the recommendation, the auctions would be held at least until 2026, i.e. for additional 5 years. Such a process would require a notification to the European Commission.<\/p>\n<p>According to the European Commission&#8217;s notification decision of late December 2017, the auction-based support scheme in Poland will be in place until 2021.<\/p>\n<p>RES auctions, introduced in 2016, proved to be an effective and competitive mechanism.<\/p>\n<h5>Arguments for the extension of the auction system:<\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>forcing competition between RES generators, giving the government the possibility for long-term price reduction for end consumers<\/li>\n<li>cheap and clean electricity from RES with the lowest fixed costs, i.e. wind and solar, can significantly support the economic recovery after the pandemic and the resulting crisis<\/li>\n<li>stimulating innovation in the Polish economy around the RES sector<\/li>\n<li>stabilization on the RES market supporting the process of just transition in Poland<\/li>\n<li>maintaining the pace of RES development in Poland is also in line with the EU&#8217;s climate policy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Full text of <a href=\"http:\/\/psew.pl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/Stanowisko-PSEW_przed\u0142uz\u0307enie-systemu-aukcyjnego.pdf\">PWEA&#8217;s position paper on auction scheme extension<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Polish Wind Energy Association has requested the Minister of [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":6304,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"inline_featured_image":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[35],"tags":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v19.9 -
