New players are joining the race for offshore projects in Polish waters.<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><strong><span lang=\"EN-GB\">PGE<\/span><\/strong><span lang=\"EN-GB\">\u00a0selected <strong>\u00d8rsted<\/strong>\u00a0for exclusive talks on the sale of a 50% stake in two projects: Baltica-3 and Baltica-2 (22 October).\u00a0 The largest Danish energy company, a global leader in offshore wind, has a chance to become PGE&#8217;s strategic partner. The final result of the talks is to be announced by the end of 2019.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span lang=\"EN-GB\">RWE Renewables<\/span><\/strong><span lang=\"EN-GB\"> purchased shares in four offshore wind farm projects with a total capacity of 1.5 GW (25 October). Unofficial information suggests that the seller was Baltic Trade and Invest, whose portfolio includes one 350 MW project with a location permit and additional three \u2013 most likely at the stage of location permit application. In official release, RWE highlighted its strong interest in joining the development of offshore wind in Poland.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">On 28 October <strong>General Electric<\/strong> signed a letter of intent with the <strong>Ministry of Investment and Development<\/strong>\u00a0on cooperation in the RES sector in Poland, with special emphasis on offshore wind development. The signing of the document demonstrates good intentions of both parties with regard to advisory and supply chain development, so that local suppliers are involved in projects to the maximum extent possible, bringing benefits to the entire economy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Another good news is the commencement of seabed surveys by <strong>PKN Orlen <\/strong>(29 October), a sign of advanced stage of project preparation.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Offshore wind farm projects in the Baltic Sea are accelerating.
