About us
The Polish Wind Energy Association is a non-governmental organization established in 1999 (previously as the “VIS VENTI Wind Power Plants Support Society”).
PWEA is currently one of the most effective organizations operating in Poland for the development of wind energy, both onshore and offshore. It brings together key companies operating on the wind energy market in Poland and abroad: investors, developers, manufacturers of turbines and components for power plants, and sub-suppliers.
The goal of PWEA is to create a friendly legal environment for the development of wind energy in Poland and to educate to increase social acceptance for wind investments in our country. The association works to improve existing and create new legal provisions and to increase political and social awareness of wind energy.
In particular, the aim of PWEA is to create effective strategies and undertake initiatives aimed at combating barriers to the development of wind energy. An important area of activity is also broad education and fighting myths about renewable energy sources to build a positive image of the entire wind industry.
The basis for PWEA‘s operation is the Association Act.
