LEITWIND

LEITWIND is the only Italian manufacturer of wind turbines with megawatt power (250 – 3,000 kW). Leitwind is a brand of Leitner, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of cableway systems. This company is part of the HTI Group specializing in winter technology (cable cars, snow groomers and artificial snow systems). Thanks to the HTI Group’s diverse expertise and fully shared production philosophy and technological heritage, positive synergistic effects may emerge between the companies in the group. The patented Direct Drive generator is a perfect example of such cooperation: this technology was implemented by Leitner Spa in 1999. Subsequently, thanks to the synergy between cableway technology and wind turbines, it was also applied to the LEITWIND wind turbine in 2003, which allowed for increased efficiency and reduced maintenance costs.
LEITWIND, with over 400 wind turbines installed worldwide, specializes in the construction and installation of patented direct drive turbines equipped with synchronous generators and permanent magnets. Leitwind wind turbines are designed specifically for small wind parks and self-sustaining community and industrial enterprise schemes, ultimately leading to lower energy costs.
