Along with many Polish companies, Euro Terminal is preparing to take part in the development of the Polish offshore market. Completion of its latest investment — a Ro-Ro ramp — constitutes another step on its growth path and towards cooperation with key players on the wind turbine market. Together with partners such as Vestas or Orlen they create a strong offshore wind farm hub in the Zachodniopomorskie province.

The ceremonial commissioning of the latest investment took place on 29 September in Euro Terminal’s port hub in Świnoujście. Invited guests included representatives of Vestas, LM Wind, SGRE, MAG and other key players from the wind turbine market.

Completion of Euro Terminal’s latest investment — the largest Ro-Ro ramp i Poland — led to an event where representatives of the companies mentioned above could thoroughly familiarise themselves with the company’s infrastructure, plans and development strategy.

Along with many Polish companies, Euro Terminal is preparing to take part in the development of the Polish offshore market. Being part of the rapidly growing offshore cluster in the Zachodniopomorskie province, Euro Terminal contributes to the synergy between investments made by players such as Vestas and Orlen in a single region. Together with its neighbours, it creates additional jobs, contributes to the state budget, and increases the region’s attractiveness in Europe.

Spread over 53 ha, Euro Terminal is a modern and well-developed port infrastructure centre. The terminal has two port basins with six quays, 3 cold storage facilities with 14,000 m2 of total storage area, and warehouse storage area totalling 27,000 m2. The terminal also features 8,736 m of rail siding, perfect for freight trains, enabling faster and more convenient handling of goods transported by train for storage in the warehouse. Additionally, Euro Terminal features dedicated transshipment equipment for different types of cargo.

The welcome speech, delivered by President of the Management Board, Eivind Eidesvik (Caiano, Wilson, Qubus) and Euro Terminal President of the Management Board Katarzyna Buława, recalled the development history of the private port and presented the plans and vision of continued growth as a service provider for the RES industry. They emphasized a crucial element — the role of state as a partner ensuring stable framework for business development.

“Developed port infrastructure coupled with a perfect location of Świnoujście and many years of experience open great opportunities for Western Pomerania in terms of the offshore sector. The region exhibits great potential to take the greatest advantage of rapid offshore growth in Poland. New jobs, new service providers and new international cooperation. Western Pomerania features all conditions enabling rapid economic growth, including increasing its role in the national economy,” emphasized Janusz Gajowiecki, President of the Polish Wind Energy Association.
