During the 29th Economic Forum in Krynica, PGE Baltica, owned by the Polish Energy Group (PGE), together with Baltic Power, a subsidiary of PKN Orlen, signed a letter of intent on cooperation in offshore wind farm projects.

– We need to act, to invest, to analyse all kinds of costs. It would be unwise if we did not cooperate. The cooperation will help optimize costs, but will also cover the logistics process and preparation of the investment project. This letter is aimed at optimization – said Mr Daniel Obajtek, CEO of PKN Orlen.

PGE is planning to invest in at least 2.5 GW of offshore wind capacity in the Baltic Sea by 2030, and Orlen in turn has a concession in the Baltic Sea allowing for construction of an offshore wind farm with a capacity of up to 1200 MW.
