Tauron Polska Energia finalizes the purchase of five wind farms located in Śniatowo, Mogilno, Inowrocław, Dobrzyn and Gołdap.
The investment cost amounts to EUR 137 million, and the company estimates the EBITDA from newly purchased wind farms to reach approx. PLN 100 million per year.
The transaction has increased the company’s wind farms’ capacity by almost 100 percent. Before the purchase, Tauron had ca. 201 MW in wind capacity, now it is 381 MW.
Tauron’s purchase of wind farms is in line with the draft of Poland’s Energy Policy until 2040. It is the implementation of the new direction of green policy adopted by Tauron – said Krzysztof Tchórzewski, the Minister of Energy.
The company’s plans include increasing the share of low- and zero-emissions sources in the generation mix to about 30% in 2025 and to 66% in 2030
