US Ambassador, Mark Brzeziński, visited a wind farm near Piotrków Trybunalski. In his opinion, wind energy is the future of Poland and our national security. The meeting has been arranged by Polish Wind Energy Association and Tauron Zielona Energia.

The largest wind farm in the province, located in the Wolbórz municipality, features wind turbines with a capacity of 30 MW, capable of powering 35 thousand homes. The site has been visited by US Ambassador, Mark Brzeziński, and Energy Attaché, Robert Rudich. The diplomats visited a wind turbine, ascending to the very top, at 120 metres.

“What I have seen is the future of Poland. Poland must be capable of producing electricity by itself and being independent from others. My father, Zbigniew Brzeziński, was always asked ‘What America will do to make Poland safer?’ He always said: ‘It is Poland that must make itself safer.’ What I see today in the wind turbines here is Poland making the country safer. I see Poland using wind and technology as well as abilities of extraordinary experts to make its future more secure. This is what I will remember from this visit today,” said US Ambassador in Poland, Mark Brzeziński, at the wind farm.

The importance of rapid growth of the onshore wind sector in Poland was emphasized by President of Polish Wind Energy Association.

“Without doubt, wind energy becomes the answer to both climate and economic crisis. New wind farms not only provide an opportunity for a profitable business, but also for decreased electricity production costs, hence lower prices. Today, wind energy is the least expensive and most attractive source of electricity. The visit of US Ambassador and his interest in RES only consolidates our belief in the important role of wind in the development of a strong and independent economy,” emphasized Janusz Gajowiecki, PWEA President.

Mayor of Wolbórz, present at the meeting, announced further investments in green energy on the territory of the municipality.

“The Ambassador’s visit to our municipality to promote wind energy is a great honour. For years we have been promoting renewable energy sources, planning and creating conditions for the construction of wind and PV farms. We are expecting another larget green energy investment — a PV farm coupled with an energy storage facility,” said Andrzej Jaros, Mayor of Wolbórz Municipality.
